I dearly hope that none of you have been so thoroughly defeated that defeat began to seem inevitable.  Have you ever fervently hoped, against all received wisdom, that your tomorrows will not reflect today?

"Do not be deceived: as a man sows, so shall he reap."  Makes me pray for a crop failure sometimes.

I hope every single night as I fall asleep that my tomorrow won't be like the day I just lived, because sometimes I'm such an idiot, I never know why I do what I do.  But I guess we all do things we don't understand sometimes.  Reaping what you sow isn't easy most of the time, but in a way, the mistakes we make are the things that show us the most about who we are.  Not so much the mistake I guess, moreso how we come through it.  There's two directions to go: up and down.  You'll head up, I'm pretty sure.  Have a great day, I'll see you back at Bible study soon!

i've been defeated some times; so, i know that one can only go up from certain points (unless--they keep looking at the slime they're bathing in).

...there will never be crop failures; i hope you will be glad about that soon...

Yes. We all feel that way... there's always something, looking back, to regret, some opportunity not taken or a deed we wish undone.

But then, I think the more knowledge we have of our failings and shortcomings makes Grace all the sweeter.

Don't be discouraged, David.
